Dr. Ron Bearden
Dr. Ron Bearden has been active in the real estate industry since 1971 when he acquired a construction company from Zapata Corporation one year after he received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Houston. He expanded the construction company into a merchant builder/development company engaged in real estate construction, development management and financial services. He has been active in the real estate mortgage industry since the late 1970’s when he served as an advisor to a savings and loan business and was engaged as managing officer to reorganize that failing business in 1980. Ron converted the saving and loan business into a successful mortgage bank that originated loans and sold the mortgages into the secondary markets retaining the servicing. Those loans were small balance commercial loans and bridge loans with originations exceeding $40 million per month. Dr. Bearden left the savings and loan business to develop property on a National basis and operate a National Mortgage brokerage firm. His business grew into a private equity and business development company, capitalizing and growing numerous businesses for advisory clients and for his own account. Debt and equity financing arrangements have exceeded several billion dollars from Dr. Bearden clients and personal companies. Currently Dr. Bearden serves on the board of several public and private companies engaged in international and domestic project finance, energy, healthcare development, and aviation. J. Mr. Douglas received his B.A. in Economics in 1977 from Tulane University, his Masters of Business Administration, Finance and Accounting from Tulane University in 1978, his Juris Doctorate in May 1982 from Tulane Law School, and a Masters in Tax Law from Boston University in 1983. He is admitted U.S. Supreme Court, 5,7,8,9, and 11th U.S. Court of Appeals. While associated with Ross, Griggs & Harrison he was a multi-sectional associate within the firms six dedicated sections. As a tax attorney he was a member of the corporate section, however; because of his extensive background, he was also a member of the firms banking section and the insurance defense section. Initially, he principally advised or served as second chair on cases involving accounting malpractice defense, and director and officer liability cases. Subsequently, he was added to the firm’s commercial litigation section to handle cases involving complex business litigation focusing on financial transactions and financial fraud. Since 1999 he has been in solo practice and continues to represent long term existing clients and serves as general counsel for several other companies and on the board of directors of three hospitals.
Greg Mayfield
Mr. Mayfield has been involved in the Houston business community since arriving in 1972 to began his professional career. Early on in his career he was Vice President of Operations for Norton Ditto and instrumental in accomplishing sales at the time in excess of $25 million dollars.
In 1983 he was offered the position of Vice President of LivingWell, Inc., a Houston based Company which owned The Houstonian, The Houstonian Hotel, Bayou Park Club Apartments, and Westside Tennis Club, all of which fell under the command of his direction. It was not until 1987 when his interest changed and he became solely focused on the healthcare marketplace. Since that time he has served a CEO and President of several Financial Services and Development Companies serving clients across the United States.
As Founder and CEO for Innovative Physicians Solutions, Mr. Mayfield formed IPS in 1998 to provide Physicians, Medical Specialist, Hospitals, and other associated healthcare providers with the ability to look beyond financial statements to find the hidden potential and opportunities most banks and financial institutions overlook. Over the years IPS has been able to be creative in it’s approach and often breathes new momentum into growing medical organizations with accelerated capital needs. Today the company has serviced over 10,000 Physicians nationwide in over 21 states across the country. IPS has developed financial products and services ranging from Medical Receivable Financing, Letters of Credit, Equipment Financing, and Debt & Equity placements in excess of $100 million dollars.
Over the past two years Mr. Mayfield has been actively involved in the Development of The Healthcare “Lifestyles Campus” setting. These include the development and financing of Medical Office Building, Assisted Living Facilities and Hospital Facilities. In 2005 Mr. Mayfield development and started IPSfn Credit Corporation with a team of individuals that has financed over $ 1 Billion in medical equipment, giving IPSfn Credit Corp. an intimate knowledge of equipment pricing, vendors and technology trends in the marketplace. During his time in Houston he has been actively involved in a variety of boards and civic associations, he also served as finance chairman in a Texas Political Campaign and on the board of the City of Post Oak Association, Texas Children’s Hospital Charity Committee, and the Administrative Board of St. Luke’s Methodist Church.
